PAULINA — A St. James Parish man was killed Tuesday in an ATV wreck.

Michael Mohon, 35, of Paulina died Tuesday evening at an area hospital, Louisiana State Police said, following a crash on Louisiana 642.

Authorities said Mohon was operating a 2014 Yamaha Viking shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday when the crash occurred in the travel lanes of Louisiana 642.

Mohon was ejected from the ATV when he lost control and it began to overturn in the roadway.

State Police said the victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample was taken from Mohon for analysis, authorities said.
