The Donut Hole, known for its famous hot glazed donuts, kolaches, breakfast offerings, and king cakes, will have a grand opening celebration at 407 East Airline Highway next to the iconic Frostop on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2:00 p.m.
The bakery attracts loyal customers from the larger River Region parishes who commute to enjoy its timeless offerings. The Donut Hole is a beloved part of the community, representing connection and joy during family events and celebrations.
New owners Bret and Courtney Bahr are excited to continue The Donut Hole’s legacy and restore its cherished flavors to the community. “We’re honored to bring back a piece of LaPlace’s history,” said Bret Bahr.
“The Donut Hole has always been more than a bakery; it’s a place where families come together, friendships are formed, and traditions are celebrated. We’re excited to serve this wonderful community again and provide delicious food and amazing service for the next generation.”
Courtney Bahr expressed similar feelings adding, “The Donut Hole holds a special place in the hearts of so many. We’re proud to reopen our doors and invite everyone to celebrate with us at our new location. We can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new ones as we embark on this journey together.”
Established in 1991, The Donut Hole became a beloved bakery in LaPlace until its closure was announced after Hurricane Ida ravaged the building at its former location on 421 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace.
