Three men were arrested on Friday for illegal gun possession and drug-related activities in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office.

Sy Osborne, 22, Tosh Joseph, 23, and Quincy Expose, 21, the three suspects, were arrested in LaPlace while trying to evade deputies. Meanwhile, a traffic stop was taking place on Cambridge Drive in LaPlace.

At 9:21 p.m., deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle turning north onto Cambridge Drive. The driver refused to stop, speeding at 45 mph in a 20 mph zone. The vehicle veered into the opposite lane near the St. Andrews Boulevard intersection.

When deputies approached the vehicle, they noticed several firearms and a large quantity of narcotics visible inside. They recovered two Glock handguns, a Springfield 9mm, and an AR-15 pistol equipped with a 40-round magazine and armor-piercing hollow points points.

In addition to more than an ounce of marijuana, several MDMA tablets, narcotic paraphernalia, and cell phones were also recovered from the vehicle.

Joseph is a convicted felon familiar to officers from past investigations into violent crimes and drug distribution in the parish. He was arrested for firearm possession as a felon, illegal possession near controlled substances, fleeing from an officer, intent to distribute marijuana and contempt of court.

Joseph is currently held in the parish jail with a bond set at $76,850.

Osborne and Expose were charged with felony possession of a firearm with intent to distribute marijuana and methamphetamine. Expose has been released on a $25,000 bond, while Osborne is still in the parish jail on a $20,100 bond.
