Entergy updates power restoration estimates for St. John & St. James

LAPLACE — On Sept. 4, Entergy Louisiana updated its estimated restoration times for Southeast Louisiana, including areas in the region that took a direct hit from Hurricane Ida.
St. John the Baptist and St. James parishes are now estimated to have power restored by Sept. 17.
Entergy expects to have damage assessments 100% complete today, Sept. 4, in the area encompassing St. John and St. James parishes. As of Sept. 3, crews had reported 1,415 poles broken, 1,557 spans of wire down and 243 damaged transformers in the area.
There are 19,726 customers without power in St. John and 9,931 customers without power in St. James as of Sept. 4.
St. Charles Parish is expected to have power restored by Sept. 29, though Entergy affirmed its commitment to explore every option to expedite restoration. In St. Charles Parish, 22,708 Entergy customers are currently without power.
Within six days of Hurricane Ida making landfall, Entergy Louisiana crews have restored nearly 327,700 customers, representing 35% of the 948,000 customers who lost power during the storm.
