St. John’s Sheriff Office probes social media threat to East St. John High School.

St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools and the sheriff’s office are investigating a social media threat at East St. John High School.
The district states that they promptly reached out to the sheriff’s office, and an investigation was underway launched.
St. John Public Schools will implement security measures, including checks, increased law enforcement, and restricted movement during peak traffic times.
The school has been closed for a week due to the winter weather, but students and staff will return to school on Monday, Jan. 27.
“The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is aware of and is actively investigating a social media post that threatens violence at East St. John High School.
“The Sheriff’s Office, along with St. John Parish Public Schools officials, is committed to ensuring that all of our students and staff are safe in our schools and will provide all of the necessary resources to protect our schools. Additionally, we are aggressively pursuing all individuals responsible for making these threats.
