As winter draws near, Child Advocacy Services (CAS) launches the “Comfortably Caring” project to provide warmth to children and families in 10 parishes, Ascension, Assumption, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, Tangipahoa, and West Feliciana.

This project reflects the mission of Child Advocacy Services, a non-profit coincides with the onset of the cold weather, allowing CAS to assemble over 100 kits with sweatshirts, scarves, blankets, and essentials to provide both immediate and lasting comfort for children.

Delores Montz, Director of St. John United Way, who leads the project to deliver 100 “Comfortably Caring” kits, providing enduring comfort to children served by the organization. Each kit includes a sweatshirt, beanie, scarf, blanket, T-shirt, and water bottle, all packed in a durable duffel bag. The blankets symbolize security and remembrance for families.

“The timing of this project couldn’t be better,” said Rob Carlisle, CEO of Child Advocacy Services. “With cooler temperatures on the way, these kits are a tangible way to show children they are cared for while providing practical items they can use throughout the winter months. We wanted these items to be wearable for school and all occasions.”
