Bond set at $160K for man arrested in connection to Laplace shooting investigation

A Laplace man arrested Monday night after allegedly being involved in a shooting that led to visible injury on the gunshot victim has his bond set at $160,000, according to a St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.

Graylin Burl III, 20, was identified as a suspect in the shooting by deputies of St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office who were called to the scene of the crime at 2400 block of Williamsburg Drive in LaPlace, authorities said.

At the scene, Deputies had found an 18-year-old man lying on a porch with an apparent gunshot to the ankle. He was transported to University Hospital via Acadian Ambulance where he was later released.

Burl was arrested Monday and booked into the St. John Parish jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, though the motive for the shooting is yet to be determined according to the authorities.

His release won’t come cheap as he is still being held in the parish jail with a bond of $160,000. Four days ago, he posted a few pictures displaying a wad of cash saying “I made over 400k in a month and still not finished” via his Instagram account.
