(Update: Authorities announced the suspect turned himself into police.)

LAPLACE — On Saturday at about 8 a.m., members of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to the area of Belle Terre Boulevard in LaPlace in reference to an armed robbery/carjacking that had just occurred.

Upon arrival to the area, deputies made contact with the victim who stated that she was carjacked by a male subject identified as Troy Campbell.

Campbell fled the area in the victim’s Ford Mustang, which was later located in the Belle Point subdivision.

A warrant was submitted and approved by a judge for the arrest of Campbell for carjacking and armed robbery.
