MONTZ — At approximately 10:18 a.m., the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted in reference to a barricaded subject at a residence located near the intersection of River Road and Hollywood Park Road in Montz.
The complaint was made by the subject’s family member, who was concerned for his safety.
Investigators were able to make contact with the subject, who initially informed deputies he was not exiting his residence. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Pontchartrain Levee District Police, were able to set a perimeter around the residence while investigators continued communications with the subject.
At approximately 2:22 p.m., the subject exited his residence and was detained without further incident.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office currently does not have any criminal charges pending for the subject.
The incident is under investigation, but all roads that were initially blocked during the incident are reopened.
“We would like to thank residents in the area for their cooperation during the investigation and we are no longer asking residents to remain indoors,” Sheriff Greg Champagne said.
