Surrounded by family, St. Charles Catholic High School seniors Robert McDonald and Lloyd Nash pledged to take their athletic talents to the college level.
McDonald has played football since sixth grade and looks forward to competing at Louisiana College for the 2018 season.
With a scholarship covering most of his college expenses and a guarantee to give 100 percent to everything he does, McDonald is setting himself up for success on the football field and in his pursuit of a physical therapy degree.
Head coach Frank Monica said McDonald has been a great leader on the field at SCC, starting for three years at right tackle.
“I think his best football is in front of him,” Monica said. “I see a bright future for him at the offensive line.”
Quarterback and receiver Lloyd Nash committed to play football at Nicholls State University, and he’s eager to transition from high school to college sports.
He was drawn to Nicholls because of its positive environment and down-home feeling, and he feels his time at SCC prepared him for the next level.
Monica said Nash has the “it” factor and a high football IQ.
“It’s going to be hard to keep him out of the lineup, even as a freshman,” Monica said. “He might be one of the best overall athletes I’ve had in high school in 48 years.”
