Meth, LSD dealer receives suspended jail setence

LAPLACE — A local man who pleaded guilty to dealing meth and LSD avoided an extended jail stay following his guilty plea last month, authorities said.
Steven Wayne Treadway, 39, of LaPlace was sentenced to five years in jail suspended, according to the St. John the Baptist Parish Clerk of Court’s Office, and placed on three years active probation.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office released the above picture of seized items from a LaPlace drug bust from June on Lilac Street.
He was given credit for all time served from June 12 and was ordered to pay $2,865 in fines and fees.
As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors dropped other charges stemming from his arrest.
St. John Sheriff’s Office Special Operations detectives announced Treadway’s arrest in June, the result of a month-long drug manufacturing and distribution investigation.
Special Operations detectives initiated a search-and-seizure warrant for Treadway’s home on Lilac Street in LaPlace, where his arrest was made.
Detectives said they discovered three plastic bags containing about eight grams of methamphetamine and a clear plastic bag containing 38 strips of LSD, as well as scales, pipes and other drug paraphernalia.
A Ruger .380 caliber handgun was also discovered, along with several hundred dollars, police said.
