RESERVE — Hands-on teaching is the standard at South Central Louisiana Technical College in Reserve, and is especially important in the Process Technology Program.

Instructor Stephany Bourgeois’ Introduction to Process Technology class is no exception, because a PTEC degree prepares students to monitor, operate and maintain equipment used in the processing of raw material into marketable chemical/petrochemical products.

Small class size is important for individual attention and practical application of PTEC jobs.

With only three months of instruction, Bourgeois’ students recently constructed a Distillation Column, which are one of the most often used types of separation equipment in the industry.
