Keller: Unify in face of Hurricane Harvey

Is it possible for such a catastrophe as Hurricane Harvey that hit Texas Friday night could produce any positive results?

I’m sure in 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and forced the United States to enter World War II, no one thought that America would see any positive results.

As I see the devastation that is reported on television, I also see that all people work together to help each other and save lives.

It is a natural disaster that no one can blame on the Democrats or the Republicans. The race card was never in play. Whites, blacks and every nationality are tirelessly working against something no human being can control.

The same thing happened during World War II.

People were forced to put aside personal needs and help each other in order to support our troops to keep our country free.

The most positive result that could possibly come from Hurricane Harvey is that all politicians would come together for the good of our country.

It’s time for selfish, self-serving elected officials to realize that our once great country needs to be unified. The man-made problem we have will destroy us more than any hurricane.

May God have mercy on the people in the path of the hurricane and remind our leaders that in unity there is strength, divided we will fail.
