I recently discovered that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has created rules that could make it nearly impossible for most vapor products to stay on the market.

Congress needs to pass a legislative fix that will protect vapor products and include sensible regulations. The proposed FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2017 will help keep vapor products on the market and improve regulations.

It will allow a more sensible FDA approval process for existing and future products; provide quality standards for vapor product batteries; and ensure sales, advertising and marketing is done responsibly and is strictly intended for adults.

This issue is extremely important to me because vaping saved my life. In December 2012, I was admitted to the ICU for two weeks. My doctor told me that if I didn’t quit smoking, I’d die. He recommended I try vaping.

Over the ensuing months, I transitioned to E-vapor and have had no medical complications since. If it weren’t for the vape industry, I don’t think I’d be writing this letter today.

I urge you to reach out to your Members of Congress asking them to support a sensible legislative solution to stop the FDA’s overreach and preserve vaping products.
