Second suspect in LaPlace shooting arrested

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office announced early Thursday afternoon that the second suspect wanted in the robbery turned homicide at the LaPlace Feed Store has been arrested.
An arrest warrant for Charles McQuarter III, 22, of Homewood Place in Reserve was issued on Wednesday for his involvement in the armed robbery-homicide which occurred Tuesday afternoon at the LaPlace store.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, McQuarter turned himself into the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force.
McQuarter was wanted for armed robbery, first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
