LAPLACE — Corporal Anthony Grandolfo and Deputy Nicholas Wright were recognized as Officers of the Month by the St. John Business Association last week during the group’s meeting at Petra’s in LaPlace.

They were honored for conducting vigilant and proactive police work that led to the arrest of two armed robbery suspects.

While on patrol in Cambridge subdivision, Wright and Grandolfo spotted a vehicle reported to be involved in armed robberies in St. John the Baptist Parish and New Orleans.

The officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle due to its inhabitants possibly being armed and dangerous, and the traffic stop resulted in the apprehension of the armed robbery suspects.

The suspect vehicle also was seized, and a search warrant was executed by local detectives.

The search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of two firearms and an abundance of evidence from the armed robberies in St. John Parish and New Orleans.
