Lorraine Gausepohl Wetzel

Lorraine Gausepohl Wetzel passed away at her residence on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at the age of 77.

She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace.

She was the beloved wife of the late Cyril E. “Butch” Wetzel Jr.; loving mother of Debra W. Morgan (Jimi), Michael Wetzel (Dacey) and the late Kurt Wetzel; daughter of the late Daisy Mary Buford and Frank Joseph Gausepohl; sister of Bessie Theobold (Lawrence), Helen Brayard and the late Edward Arostegui, Norman Arostegui and Richard Arostegui; and grandmother of Chad McLean (Amber), Blake McLean (Lacey), Tyler McLean, Max Wetzel (Ashley), Addie Wetzel and Jordan Wetzel (Lucy).

She was also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Lorraine’s loving and caring sitters, Ms. Joyce Brown, Donna Duhe and Kimberly Hales.

A special thanks to Mrs. Leigh Hoover, RN for her guidance and support through Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace on Wednesday, March 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, March 2 from 9 to 10 a.m.

The Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 10 a.m.

Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
