GRAMERCY — St. James Community Theater organizers, who brought recent summer hits “The Addams Family” and “Shrek” to local audiences, decided to rename the organization and operate as River Parish Community Theatre.

River Parish Community Theatre has launched a new website, riverparishtheatre.org and is also releasing new Twitter twitter.com/riverparishct and Facebook facebook.com/riverparishct pages.

The organization will still offer a Friends membership for community members who want to support the organization and gain a few perks while doing so, such as advanced ticket purchase opportunities, program ads and more.

“As we rebuild St. James Community Theater, we realized that our reach is beyond just St. James Parish,” a Theatre release said. “We have decided to operate with a DBA of River Parish Community Theatre to be more reflective of our reach.”

We plan to work on increasing offerings of events throughout the region. We’re continuing to grow and enhance our organization and have great things on the horizon.”

This summer, River Parish Community Theatre will present Annie, putting a fresh look on an American classic, organizer said.

The show, directed by Darryl P. Clement, will run July 14-16 and July 20-22.

Auditions will be held in April with more details to be released shortly.
