St. John, Southeast Louisiana under flash flood watch

LAPLACE — As a result of a cold front moving across the region, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for St. John and surrounding Southeast Louisiana Parishes until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017.

Possible Impacts Include:
  • Heavy Rainfall of 3-6 inches with isolated higher amounts over days
  • Large hail
  • Wind gusts up to 60 mph
  • Isolated tornadoes
  • Ponding of water in low-lying areas
The St. John Parish Emergency Operations Center is in contact with the National Weather Service and will continue to monitor the weather system.
