RESERVE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District is hosting a community forum this week regarding the upcoming tax election.

The forum starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the East St. John High School gymnasium on Airline Highway.

Community members are invited to hear about the tax proposal on the Dec. 10 ballot and have any questions answered.

The school district is proposing a .25-cent sales tax that would be used to hire and retain teachers and support staff and to maintain buildings to provide an effective learning environment.
