RESERVE — St. John the Baptist Parish is hosting a workforce development and contractor networking event Friday to introduce opportunities for established and emerging contractors to engage in Hurricane Isaac recovery programs within the Parish.

The Community Development Block Grant contractor job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Regala Gym, 200 Regala Park Road in Reserve.

All interested contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers and trades are encouraged to attend and network amongst each other to discover opportunities to work together in St. John.

Contractors who attend the fair will identify and interview qualified potential subcontractors that can help complete government contracts.

In addition, various general contractors and organizations will be setup at informational tables and available to discuss individual company needs.

Attendees should bring business cards, company fliers, resumes, etc. to hand out at the event.
