RESERVE — A 15-year-old student was arrested Wednesday, charged with striking a female teacher, authorities said.

The school resource deputy at Leon Godchaux arrested the male student for striking the teacher on her arm, according to Sheriff Mike Tregre said.

“During class, the student became disruptive to the class, and the teacher called the principal to remove the student from class,” Tregre said. “As the student walked out, he struck the teacher’s arm.”

The school resource deputy arrested and booked the student with battery of a schoolteacher.

The student was released to the custody of his mother.
