Register party for St. John’s Night Out Against Crime

LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is inviting community members to participate next month in Night Out Against Crime.
The annual event will be held this year on Oct. 18.
Neighbors planning to have a party are encouraged to register the location with the Sheriff’s Office.
Angel Thompson, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said deputies would be happy to come out and visit parties that have registered.
Sheriff Mike Tregre said the event encourages residents to show criminals the community and law enforcement are working together to fight crime in local neighborhoods.
