GONZALES — Shell Chemical, Geismar, has donated $8,000 to the River Parishes Community College Foundation to fund scholarships for area students enrolled in workforce degree and certification programs, such as process technology, non-destructive testing, welding and mobile crane operation.
“This is an ongoing partnership,” said Kevin Hardy, site communications director for Shell. “We are extremely interested in helping any student, from high school graduates starting their career to the many adult students who are looking to improve their work lives.”
River Parishes Community College leaders say the school focuses on building the workforce of today and tomorrow through specific skill training.
