Deputies Melvin Sandle, Michael Hicks, Valrie Macon-Smith and Cleve Cambre practice chest compressions. All St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office employees must participate in CPR training according to the American Heart Association guidelines. Sgt. Kaiana Knight and Sgt. Denise Bertrand have been leading training in adult-child and infant CPR with automated external defibrillators. Participants must demonstrate skills and pass a test to receive certification.
