RESERVE — A man was killed Wednesday evening in Reserve, the result of a shooting, authorities said.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 8800 block of Richmond Drive in Reserve at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday after gunshots were heard in the area.

A release from Sheriff Mike Tregre said a vehicle hit a building on Richmond Drive.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find a male subject with a gunshot slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle. Emergency medical services transported the victim to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Tregre said.

Authorities have not released any information about the victim.

This homicide is the second in St. John the Baptist Parish this year.
