- July 4, 1974: New Eagle Scouts of Troop 321 are, left, Maxie McGraw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin McGraw Jr., and Van Gilmore III, the son and Mr. and Mrs. Van Gilmore Jr. The two received their Eagle Scout awards, the highest scouting honor, at a Court of Honor at the LaPlace Firehouse. Maxie, the troop quartermaster, will be a senior at St. Charles Borromeo this fall. Van, the senior patrol leader, will be a senior at De La Salle High School this fall.
