Thomas Norman Todd, 75, of LaPlace, formerly of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly at 1:45 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2016, in Indianapolis.

Born July 29, 1940, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Paul Raymond Sr. and Ruth May (Potts) Todd.

On December 18, 1960, in Cass County, he was married to Nellie Jean (Ross) Todd. She preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 1982.

Tom was a 1958 graduate of Washington Township High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Franklin College. Tom was a math and science teacher at Daniel Webster Elementary School. He had also worked in sales at Todd’s Appliance Store.

As an ordained Baptist minister, Tom officiated at many weddings over the years.

He was a former member of Spring Creek Christian Church. Tom was a longtime member of Logansport’s Tipton Masonic Lodge. He loved to travel.

Tom had a lifelong love of the Indianapolis 500 race and enjoyed watching the 100th running of the race on TV the day before his death. First and foremost in his life were his family. He loved  being a grandpa and great-grandpa.

Surviving are daughter and son-inlaw Sandy J. and Mark Wandrei, also of LaPlace; sons Steven R. Todd of Logansport, and Jeffrey N. Todd, of Indianapolis; two sisters and brothers-in-law Martha and Jerry Selk, of Florida, and Barb and Carl Wandrei, of Logansport; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Darrell) Button, Pamela (Robby) Brady, Kristina (Chris) Clement, Courtney (Josh) Wesselman, Sarah Todd,  James Todd,  Michelle Ace and Ashley Ace; and 13 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Elizabeth, William, Piper, Penelope, Liam, Damien, Jacob, Evan, Bentley, Destiny, Briella and Anna.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Todd; sister, Rosemary Todd; and grandson, Brad Wandrei.
Visitation hours will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel. A Masonic serivce will be held immediately following the visitation.

Following the Masonic rites, a funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will take place, officiated by Dawn Fisher.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
