Murphy “Jay” LaBranche Jr., 56, passed away May 27, 2016.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 34 years, Robin Ghergich LaBranche; his daughter Jessie LaBranche and her fiancé, Joshua Gregoire; and his son, Chad LaBranche and his girlfriend, Mitzi Tucker.

He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy LaBranche; two sisters, Diana Marse (Kevin) and Joanne Weber (Nolan); mother and father-in-law Luke and Rose Ghergich; his sister-in-laws, Cindy Anderson (Randy), Belinda Borne (Jody); his godsons, Jason Marse and Matthew Weber; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, friends, his Sacred Heart Church family, his Bayou Steel family and his Allstate family to whom he loved dearly.

He is also survived by his beloved pups, Missy, Molly, Gus and Mia. He was preceded in death by his father, Murphy LaBranche Sr.

Jay had a love for life, fishing, being outdoors and spending quality time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco on Friday, June 3, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
