United Way awards St. Charles scholarships

LULING — United Way of St. Charles awarded LIVE UNITED    scholarships to six St.    Charles Parish graduating high school seniors Tuesday, the  recipients each receiving a one-time cash award in recognition of their commitment to community service and the positive impact they have had on St. Charles    Parish through their leadership and service.

The award is intended to help defray educational expenses for attending a post-secondary program of their choice.

“United Way of St. Charles is proud to honor the recipients of our LIVE UNITED scholarship. We are very happy to be able to support these students who have made such an effort to give back to their community,” stated Kacy Kernan, UWSC Director of Community    Impact.

LIVE  UNITED scholarships were awarded to students from Destrehan and Hahnville High Schools.

The students who received scholarships from Hahnville High School include Elizabeth Keran, Madison Cancienne, and Beau Bourgeois.

Destrehan High School students Rachel Marino, Reagan Pfister and Sarah Gauthier received a LIVE UNITED scholarship, as well.

The United Way of St. Charles Staff and Board of Directors congratulates these scholarship recipients and all of the 2016 high school graduates this week.
