EDGARD — West St. John Elementary celebrated testing and high achievement during an April pep rally.

Students in third through seventh grades joined faculty and staff, as well as School Board Member Russell Jack and members of the West Bank Civic Association.

Atlanta Falcons player and West St. John High alumnus Tyson Jackson joined students in preparing for testing and higher achievement.

Faculty, staff, students and community members honored Jackson for his contributions of supplies to the students. Every student received a supply box from Jackson at the beginning of the school year. Jackson has been supplying the students at West St. John Elementary with supplies for more than five years.

Cheerleaders and students welcomed him into the pep rally with welcoming arms. Student Council member Jaymon Jasmine presented Jackson with a plaque of appreciation from the entire school community.

Following the presentation, students were greeted by inspiring speaker Kaelan Levy, also known as K. Levy, who spoke about being legendary.

Levy is a local music artist who focuses on positive lyrics and motivational speaking. After speaking to the students, he rapped and allowed students to get fired up and ready for testing.

To close out the program, West Bank Civic Association President Charmaine Roybiskie congratulated students on their success and encouraged them to do their best.

West Bank Civic Association members also served refreshments to the faculty, staff and students.
