Frank Schneller

Frank Schneller, 84, of LaPlace died of natural causes on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015.
He was an architectural draftsman and designer, mainly of commercial buildings in Texas and Louisiana. Born in Tulsa, Okla., on Feb. 8, 1931, Schneller is preceded in death by his second wife, Rose Mary (1931-2008); his parents, William and Stella, and a half-brother, Jack Schneller.
Schneller is survived by his children, Beverly Schneller (widowed) of Nashville, Tenn., Laura Steele and her husband Ted of Zion, IL, Martin Schneller, his wife, Sonya, and their two children, Ashley and Amanda, and his stepson, Keith Peters.
He served with distinction as part of the U.S. Army Third Infantry in Korea. He earned the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Bronze Star for his work in strategic operations, especially mapping in the battlefield.
He was also president and treasurer of his home owners association in retirement. Schneller, an avid Saints fan, was noted for his sense of humor, and his willingness to help others.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Puppies Behind Bars, 263 W. 38th St., Fourth Floor, New York, NY 10018. The organization trains prison inmates to raise service dogs for wounded veterans and for law enforcement.
Interment will be at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
