Southern Sluggers repeat as champions of ASA qualifier

LAPLACE – Southern Sluggers 18U Gold local fastpitch softball team recently won the ASA Regional Qualifying event in Patterson hosted by the Berwick Breakers.
It was the second year in a row that the Sluggers came away with the championship qualifying them for the ASA regionals and a possible berth to nationals.
After falling into the loser’s bracket on the Sluggers came back to win five straight games to defeat the Lady Pride for the championship 5-1.
