St. Rose man faces attempted murder charge

HAHNVILLE – A St. Rose man faces a charge of attempted first-degreemurder after allegedly shooting at a man on Nov. 29.Lt. Dwayne LaGrange reported that the 21-year-old St. Rose victim waslooking for James M. Moliere III, 20, of 237 Mockingbird Lane, believingMoliere to be the person who stole money from him.
The victim located Moliere in the 200 block of First Street in St. Rose andconfronted him. However, Moliere allegedly fired several shots at him,striking him in the left hand. He also struck the car’s windshield, mirror,door and passenger seat.
The victim was treated for his injuries at East Jefferson Medical Center, and deputies obtained a description of the suspect vehicle by canvassing the area of the shooting. They tracked Moliere down on Wednesday.Moliere was also charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and three counts of aggravated criminal damage to property. No weapon has beenrecovered, LaGrange said, and the incident remains under investigation.
