Shooting outside bar leaves one man injured

LAPLACE- An apparent fight led to a shooting early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a LaPlace bar.

One LaPlace man was seriously injured.

According to Capt. Mike Tregre of the St. John Sheriff’s Office, deputiesresponded to a disturbance call at the bar in the 600 block of Second Street around 4:31 a.m. The owner of the bar called the police and saidthere was a disturbance and he wanted the parking lot cleared out.

When the deputies arrived they were told shots had been fired, and they discovered 25-year-old Terrance Marshall lying in the parking lot with a bullet wound to the stomach.

Marshall was rushed to River Parishes Hospital.

“At this point we don’t have a lot to go on,” Tregre said. “We do know therewas a fight, but we don’t know who or what caused it.”The sheriff’s office is asking help from the community in this shooting.
