BATON ROUGE – Several local girls recently placed at the 8-and-Under State Swim Meet held at the LSU Natatorium.

In the 8-year-old division, Kaila Klibert placed seventh in the 25-yard freestyle, eighth in the 25-yard backstroke, eighth in the 100-yard individual medley and 12th in the 50-yard freestyle.

In the 7-year-old division, Katelyn Vitrano placed second in the 25-yard backstroke, second in the 25-yard butterfly, third in the 100-yard individual medley, third in the 50-yard freestyle, fourth in the 25-yard freestyle and fourth in the 25-yard breaststroke.

Jennifer Broussard placed second in the 100-yard individual medley, third in the 25-yard freestyle, third in the 25-yard breaststroke, fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, fourth in the 25-yard butterfly and 12th in the 25-yard backstroke.

Candace McGaff placed 11th in the 100-yard individual medley.

Madeline Ruiz finished ninth in the 25-yard freestyle, 10th in the 25-yard breaststroke, 11th in the 50-yard freestyle, 12th in the 100-yard individual medley, 13th in the 25-yard backstroke and 14th in the 25-yard butterfly.

The girls are all members of the Crescent City Swim Club which placed first at the meet out of 16 other swim clubs from Louisiana.
