Kiss fan throwing farewell party

LAPLACE – It’s time to say farewell to the band known as Kiss. As some ofyou may know, the pyrotechnic, face-painted rock and rollers known collectively as Kiss are making their final world tour with a stop in New Orleans April 16.
In honor of this concert, super Kiss fan Colleen Songy, keeper of the Kiss faith for LaPlace, is throwing a farewell party for the band April 15 at the Pizza ‘N Flics in Metairie.
This is not only a party to say so long to Kiss, but all proceeds from the party are going to the Eric Carr Cancer Foundation through St. Jude’sHospital. Eric Carr was a huge Kiss fan, and Songy would like to make thisfarewell party a memorial to Eric.
For a $3 cover fee party attendees will get a slice of pizza and a ticket for a raffle and a chance to win 10th row tickets to the Kiss concert the following night. The cover fee goes to the Eric Carr Cancer Foundation forChildren’s Diseases.
The party will also have live music by the Band Not Formerly Known as Kiss from Houston.
There will also be face-painting for kids, (and adults), food, drink and a look-a-like contest.
Songy said to bring the kids.
“We want to make this a family event,” said Songy.
Doors to Pizza ‘N Flics open at 7:30 p.m. The band starts to play at 9 p.m.Pizza ‘N Flics is located at 4532 South I-10 Service Road in Metairie.
