GENDRON
LAPLACE – Sarah Rollo Gendron, 60, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 28. She was the wife of Robert J. Gendron Jr. and mother of DarleneKeyser, Robin Vicknair, Gaylyn Adams and Bryan Gendron.
She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Mamie Milioto Rollo and sister of Vincent Rollo.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 1 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
HINKLE
NORCO – Clifford J. Hinkle, 86, a native of Corning, Ark., and resident ofNew Sarpy for 46 years, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of the lateRosemary Poche Hinkle and father of Patricia Chiasson, Susan Cabibi, Kathleen Pellegrine and Clifford II and the late Carolyn Hinkle.
He was also the son of the late Louis Nelly and Willie Hinkle.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at First Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation starts at 9:30a.m.
JACOB
RESERVE – Mabel Daigle Jacob, 88, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Reserve, died Nov. 29. She was the wife of the late Stanislaus Jacob andmother of Mary Babcock, Janice Tassin and Darrel and Marius Jacob Sr.
She was also the daughter of the late Leonard and Valerie Mollere Daigle and sister of Leota Hymel, Delma Maurin, Valerie Freeman and Wilson Daigle.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
JONES
BOUTTE – Janice Griffin Jones, 48, a native of Boutte and resident of Melbourne, Fla., died Nov. 23. She was the mother of Michelle and KelvinJones.
She was also the daughter of Leona Groden Griffin and sister of Joyce Brown, Patricia Johnson, Valerie Robertson and Clarence Griffin Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
LAQUE
LULING – Marie C. Laque, a resident of Luling, died Nov. 28. She was thewife of the late Vernon V. Laque.She was also the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Welmer Chiasson and sister of Alice Palmisano, Pearl Verda, Alma Dasch, Helen Rome, Rose Mary Chiasson, Betty Hymel, Bernice Oubre and the late Pauline, Arthur and Leon Chiasson.
Services were Nov. 30 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling.
POCHE
PAULINA – Barry Anthony Poche, 47, a native of Lutcher and resident of Paulina, died Nov. 28. He was the father of Brandy, Brandon and JasonPoche and fianc of Kitty Tramonte Louque.
He was also the son of Eunice Louque Poche and the late Marvin A. Pocheand brother of Stacy Roussel and Randy, Kenny and Marty Poche.
He was a training coordinator at Motiva Enterprises, Convent, with 22 years of service, and also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.Services were Dec. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
ROUSSEAU
ST. JAMES – Roger Joan Rousseau, 61, a native of Paincourtville andresident of St. James, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of GertrudeFalgoust Rousseau and father of Lynette Martinez and Kevin Rousseau.
He was also the son of the late Roy and Agnes Blanchard Rousseau and brother of Eveline Alleman, Agnes Hymel and Stephen, Eric, Irwin, Roy and the late Adele Rousseau.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He was an employee of St. James Sugar Co-Op.Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St. James,with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
ROUSSEL
CONVENT – Vivian St. Pierre “Ket” Roussel, 80, a native of Paulina andresident of Convent, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of the late Melvin J.Roussel and mother of Diane Kinler and Gaskin “Jimmy” and Wayne Roussel.
She was also the daughter of the late Gaskin and Eleanor St. Cyr St. Pierreand sister of the late Henry Vicknair Jr.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,Convent, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8a.m.
SCOTT
CONVENT – Elouise Smith, 80, a native of Welcome and resident of Convent, died Nov. 23. She was the mother of Luberda Hawkins, ShirleyPeters and Eula, Brenda, Barbara, Herbert, Junious, Norman, Freeman, Melvin and Raymond Smith.
She was also the sister of Enola Shield, Albertha Blair, Catherine Porter and Melvin Sr., Elder Clarence, the Rev. Willie, Charlie and FreddieWinfield.
She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is also survived by two great-aunts, Rose Douglas and Leona Smith.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Jeremiah Baptist Church, Convent, withinterment at St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery.
SMITH
METAIRIE – Irene Keller Smith, 78, a native of Vacherie and resident of Metairie, died Nov. 24. She was the mother of Katherine Miller and Tina LaBeauf.
She was also the sister of Lois Bellone and Dorothy Lamantia.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There were no services.
WILLIAMS
LAPLACE – Dorothy Breaux Williams, 69, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 25. She was the wife of the late Rev. Haskel Williams and fostermother of Earnest Rogers and the late Leonard Breaux.
She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Dedmond Breaux and sister of Alma Fuller, Thelma Francis, Mable Taylor, Irene, Louise, Junius and Herman Breaux and the late Emeria Williams and Laurence and Eugene Breaux.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, LaPlace, withinterment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Napoleonville. Visitation starts at 8:30a.m.
