BATON ROUGE – Donriel Louis, a West St. John High School graduate in 2000,was chosen as the LSU student of the month for September.

The student of the month award recognizes the student-athlete who has achieved academic success during the month.

This award also recognizes the student who has demonstrated by his example and his determination that effort needed for a student to be successful in the classroom.

A release from the LSU Academic Center for Athletes states “Donriel Louis showed great determination by completing all study hall hours, attending all classes and participating in all football and extra-curricular activities. Hisgrades and performance in all areas were indicative of his determination and focus. Donriel’s picture was posted in the LSU football locker room to honorhim and to motivate all other student-athletes. Donriel Louis epitomizes thetrue spirit of the LSU student-athlete.”Louis is a freshman on the LSU football team. At West St. John, he wasnamed to the Class 2A all-state team in both football and basketball. Hehelped the Rams win state titles in football in 1998 and in basketball in 2000.
