ADAMS
BATON ROUGE – Marilyn M. Adams, a native of Montz and resident of BatonRouge, died Sept. 13. She was the wife of the late Pvt. Felton Adams and mother of Melvin Adams Sr. and Demonica Johnson.She was also the daughter of Ethel B. Morris and Melvin Morris and sisterof Patricia Peters, Delores Newman, Dennis Hill, Napoleon Bryant, Joe Tombar and Joseph Lewis.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Providence II Baptist Church, Montz, withinterment in Montz Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
BORNE
LUTCHER – Christopher Borne Sr., 70, a native of Edgard and resident ofVacherie, died Sept. 10. He was the husband of Carrie Borne and father ofLeJeanne Luke, Valecia Colton and Malson, Christopher Jr., Reginald, Yvetteand Jill Borne.
He was also the brother of Ophelia Baloney, Eloise Briscoe, Jonathan and Norman Borne and Romalis Jasmin.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalum Baptist Church, Edgard,with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
BRIGNAC
LAPLACE – Clarence Joseph “Brick” Brignac, 87, a native of Gramercy, former resident of Good Hope and resident of LaPlace for 20 years, died Sept. 12. He was the husband of Theresa Landry Brignac and father ofClaire Doggett and Alton Brignac.
He was also the son of the late Hamilton J. and Sidonie Hymel Brignac andbrother of Gladys Barbier, Rita Kaul, Julian Brignac and the late Rena and Mabel Hymel, Eunice Marrero and Raymond, Lester, Milton and Thelma Brignac.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step- grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Services were Sept. 14 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, withinterment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie.
CHOW
LAPLACE – Ngan Siu Chow, 83, a native of China and resident of LaPlace for the past 15 years, died Sept. 11. She was the mother of Henry Wong andYuet Lin Wong Chong.
She is survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.
DONNAUD
LULING – Lawrence Joseph Donnaud Sr., 86, a native of Boutte and residentof Luling, died Sept. 13. He was the husband by first marriage of the lateOdette Guidry and by second marriage of Thelma M. Donnaud, father ofLawrence Donnaud Jr. and stepfather of Kathleen France and the late RudySchouest.
He was also the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Louise Thibodeaux Donnaudand brother of Ruby Smith, AnnieLee Bourgeois, Mary Brown, Allen, John, Albert, Paul and Rita Donnaud and the late Lillian Poche, Eula Templet and Prosper and Joseph Donnaud Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua CatholicChurch, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitationstarts at 9 a.m.
HOFFMANN
NORCO – Alma Braud Hoffman, 88, a native of White Castle and resident of Norco, died Sept. 12. She was the wife of Harry Hoffman and mother ofJames Hoffman.
She was also the daughter of the late Henry and Constantia Ourso Braud and sister of the late Maude Vaughn and Lillian and Joseph Braud.
She is also survived by one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 14 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco,with interment at Ascension Catholic Mausoleum, Donaldsonville.
JOHNSON
BATON ROUGE – Rayfield “Pal” Johnson, 57, a native of Boutte and resident of Baton Rouge, died Sept. 12. He was the husband of Betty Stewart Johnsonand father of Rayfield and Reonda Davis and Robin, Chantel, Seneca and Alexis Johnson.
He was also the sister of Delita Washington.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mount Aaron Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment in the church cemetery.

NEW ORLEANS – Clara Martha Jones, 64, a native of Vacherie and resident of New Orleans, died Sept. 11. She is the mother of Julia Pleasant and MarkSr.
and Regina Jones.
She is also the sister of Cornelius Jones, Coretha Johnson, Esther Mae Williams, Lola Russell, Cora Peter, Ellen Fletcher, Ora Bell Ambrose, Nolia Gibson and Rose Ann Jones.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
LABRANCH
BOUTTE – Irvin “Sport” LaBranch, 75, died Sept. 9. He was the husband ofErnestine LaBranch, father of Greta Walker, Debbie Bullock, Brad and Sterling LaBranch and stepfather of Melvin Honor and Celestine Williams.
He was also the son of the late Peter and Lucy LaBranch and brother of Katie Thorne.
He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 14 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, with intermentat St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte.
SCHEXNAYDRE
DESTREHAN – Angele Marie Schexnaydre, 94, a native of St. Chales Parishand resident of Destrehan, died Sept. 13. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Marie Troxclair Schexnaydre and sister of Stella Morehead and the late Marie Reine and Nicholas, Joseph, Willie, Benoit, Ida, Edna, Lillian and Elma Schexnaydre.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation begins at 8a.m.
SHURTZ
DESTREHAN – Hubert Dean Shurtz, 77, a native of Pinckneyville, Ill., andresident of Destrehan for 52 years, died Sept. 12. He was the husband of53 years of Anna Lee Brogdon Shurtz and father of Sally Wellman and Stephen and Mark Shurtz.
He was also the son of the late Clarence and Minnie Shurtz and brother of Pauline Giacomo, Frenche Shurtz and the late Davie Harriet Shurtz.
He is also survived by four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by onegrandchild and an infant sister.
He was a retired Shell supervisor, retired U.S. Army Reserves lieutenantcolonel and veteran of World War II, former Pittsburgh Steeler football player and coach and teacher at Destrehan High School. He was also active formany years with St. Charles Parish’s Coastal Zone Advisory Committee.Services were Sept. 15 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.
STEWART
RESERVE – Andrew A. “Doc” Stewart, 14, a native and resident of Reserve,died Sept. 10. He was the son of Leola Stewart and Andrew Cosey andbrother of Lakwandlyn King and Readyika and Rachelle Stewart.
He is also the grandson of Emelda Stewart and Vernon Cosey and the late James Stewart and Robert Porter.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater New Plymouth Rock BaptistChurch, Reserve, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
WASHINGTON
ST. ROSE – Gwendolyn Theresa Washington, 60, native of New Orleans andresident of St. Rose, died Sept. 8. She was the mother of Jason Farlough,Jennifer Jacques and Joseph Jr., Echete Sr., Mark Sr. and Elita Washington.She was also the sister of Rufus Samuel Sr., Leo James Williams Sr., DorisMarbley, Mary Davis and Lydia Charles.
She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 15 at Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ,Gretna, with interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
