Some may feel that insurance companies have ruined the state of health care in America, with insurance agents making medical decisions in order to make a profit and provide the least possible coverage while collecting the greatest possible fees. Canada is often held up as an example of a nation which has a health-care system easy to understand and accessible to all. However, critics label it “socialized medicine” and hurl political insults to steer people away from it. Doubtless, much of the current insurance state originally meant well, but the customers, especially senior citizens, are increasingly dissatisfied with the service and the costs involved. As a greater percentage of the American population become older, change will inevitably come. With organization, communication and political muscle, the state of health care costs will improve. Now, who’s willing to make the change?
