BRIDGES

METAIRIE – Hewitt “Huey” Franklin Bridges, 70, a native of Manfield, former resident of Metairie and resident of Destrehan, died Sept. 28. He was the husband of Joyce Bridges and father of Randall and Ronald Bridges.

He was the brother of Kenneth Bridges.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 1 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories.

CONEGLIO

PAULINA – George H. Coneglio III, 44, a native of New Orleans and resident of Chandler, Texas, died Sept. 16. He was the husband of Tammy Austin Coneglio and father of Aaron and Summer Coneglio.

He was the son of George Jr. and Faith Coneglio, brother of David and Karl Coneglio and Stephanie Bady, Lauren Nosacka and Marie Duhe and the grandson of Ethel Scharwath and the late George Sr. and Lena Coneglio and Herbert Scharwath.

He was a former employee of Airline Auto Glass.

Services were Sept. 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

COOPER

AMA – Verna Mae Cooper, 71, a native and resident of Ama, died Sept. 23. She was the daughter of the late Batiste and Ola Cooper and sister of Shirley Cooper and the late Gus and Esta Campbell and George, Louis, James, Eldridge, Maxine and Ruby Cooper.

Services were Sept. 30 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Ama, with interment at Mary Flower Cemetery.

POMMELLS

NEW ORLEANS – Tracy Boyle Pommells, 40, a native of New Orleans and resident of Destrehan, died Sept. 26.

She was the wife of Charles Pommells and stepmother of Charles Pommells.

She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Paula Marino Boyle and sister of Charleen and Patrick Boyle III and Richard Bonevalle.

Services were Sept. 30 at Schoen Funeral Home chapel, New Orleans.

STEIB

VACHERIE – Vivian Jones Steib, 82, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Sept. 28.

She was the mother of Sylvia Vinnett, Bishop, Joseph and Kenneth Steib and the late Linda Clark.

She was the daughter of James and Naomi Keller Jones and sister of Thelma Armond, Julianna Foucher, Bessie Piper, Howard and Joseph Jones and the late Betty Mayho and Ester Combre.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m.
