Louisiana Tech University
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech University’s spring quarter commencement exercises were recently held with diplomas awarded to 811 graduates. Area graduates – listed by parish, city and degree – are as follows:

Luling – Scott Thomas Greci, bachelor of fine arts in graphic design, summa cum laude; Robin Michelle Parker, bachelor of science, summa cum laude.

Nicholls State University
THIBODAUX – Nicholls State University recently hosted its spring commencement exercises, graduating 536 students.
Eight baccalaureate graduates of the spring 2002 semester received their degrees with the highest academic honors, summa cum laude. The group included Kyna Rene Boyer of Paradis, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University recently awarded degrees to the largest class in school history as 683 students received degrees at its spring 2002 commencement exercises.

Southeastern Louisiana University
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University recently conferred degrees on more than 900 graduates as part of its spring 2002 commencement exercises.
President’s Medals for Academic Excellence were awarded to the top students in each college, including LaPlace resident and kinesiology-athletic training major Jeanie Marie Dufrene (4.0 grade point average) in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Xavier University of Louisiana
NEW ORLEANS – Xavier University of Louisiana recently awarded 680 degrees at its 75th annual commencement ceremony. The class included 46 graduates who received their degrees with summa cum laude distinction, including Vacherie resident Brian Michael Landry, who earned a bachelor of science degree. Lutcher resident Angell Jennifer Jackson, bachelor of science degree, and LaPlace resident Julie Marie Jernigan, doctor of pharmacy, each graduated with magna cum laude distinction.
