Swimming in success

The Crescent City Swim Club recently competed in the Louisiana State Swim Championships at Louisiana State University and placed first in the 9-10-year-old girls division for both the 200 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Medley Relays. The 9-10-year-old girls outscored every other boy and girl age group at the meet and won the state championship. Swimming in the relays, were (pictured left to right) Julia Barre from Metairie, Danielle Kerr of Kenner, Jennifer Broussard from LaPlace, Shelby Waguespack from Destrehan, Katelyn Vitrano and Christine Kerr. Placing in the top eight for the state were: Barre placed fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke, seventh in the 100 backstroke and 100 in the breaststroke.
Danielle Kerr placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke, fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke, seventh in the 100-yard butterfly and eighth in the 50-yard butterfly. Broussard finished third in the 50 and 100-yard butterfly and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Waguespack placed first in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle, first in the 50 and 100-backstroke, first in the 200 individual medley and second in the 100 individual medley and 100 butterfly. She was the girls 9-10 high point winner. Vitrano placed second in the 50 and 100-yard backstroke, fifth in the 200-yard freestyle and 200 individual medley, seventh in the 100 individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
Christine Kerr placed sixth in the 50 and 100-yard butterfly, sixth in the 50-yard freestyle, seventh in the 200 individual medley, eighth in the 100 individual medley 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.
