BRIGNAC
LAPLACE – Elaine Acosta Brignac, 71, a native of LaPlace and resident of Garyville for 45 years, died March 19. She was the wife of Lawrence Brignac and mother of Cathy Louque, Paulette Descant and the late Larry Sr. and Chris Brignac.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Luciana Acosta and sister of Lola Griffin, Betsy Grady and Lawrence, Edwin and the late Leroy and Ronald Acosta.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were March 22 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
CAILLET
HAHNVILLE – Syl F. Caillet Sr., 94, a native and resident of Hahnville, died March 20. He was the husband of Maybelle Baudoin Caillet and father of Gerald and Syl Caillet Jr. and the late Sylvia Touchard and Cynthia Caillet.
He was the son of the late Syl Eli and Elise Trosclair Caillet and brother of Elise Young, Pearl Baudoin, Velma Matis, Virginia and Marcelin “Jack” Caillet and the late Cecile Donnaud and Evelyn LeBlanc.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were March 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport.
DETILLIER
GRAMERCY – Lynn R. Detillier, 66, a native of Lutcher and resident of Gramercy, died March 18. He was the husband of the late Mary Catherine “T-Cat” Deroche Detillier and father of Cindy Martin, Hilda Montero and Lynn Jr., Andy, David, Jason and the late Charles “Inky” Detillier.
He was the son of the late Alcee and Marguerite Arabie Detillier and brother of Shirley Borrello, Elsie Levet, Thelma DeJean and Jeannette, Percy, Dudley and Archie Detillier.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
He was a retired supervisor with Shell Oil Co., Norco.
Services were March 21 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
FRANCINQUE
NORCO – Lester Paul Francinque, 74, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco, died March 18. He was the son of the late Paul and Rosemary Rozzetta Francinque and brother of Leatrice Boutrie and Joe Francinque.
Services were March 22 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco.
HELTZ
LAPLACE – Lydee Aucoin Heltz, 84, a native of Plattenville and resident of Reserve for 68 years, died March 21. She was the wife of the late Ruby Heltz and mother of Anita Millet, Sandra Barre and Dave and the late Raymond Heltz.
She was the daughter of the late Achille and Angela Aucoin and sister of Mildred Breaux and the late Agnes Alexander, Manette Cashio, Isabelle Simon and Camille, Medric, Erby, Alex, Claude, Eddie “Chicken” and James Aucoin.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10:30 a.m. In the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
KELLER
RESERVE – Hilda Mae “Da Da” Keller, 72, a native and resident of Reserve, died March 19. She was the mother of Gloria Keller.
She was the sister of Lois Bright and Margie, Theresa, Nolia and Freddie Young Sr.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
KEYS
GRAMERCY – Lawrence “Pop” Keys, 78, a native of Gramercy and resident of Washington, D.C., died March 14. He was the husband, by first marriage, of the late Alice Keys and, by second marriage, of Madeline Keys; and father of Benjamine and Charles Barnes and Shirlyn, Iris, Rochelle, Denise, Ronald and Steve Keys.
He was the son of the late Dorethea Thompkins and Lawrence Keys Sr.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired naval officer.
Services were March 21 at New Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary.
LARKIN
LAPLACE – Genevieve Larkin, 76, a native of Ardmore, Pa., and resident of LaPlace for 21 years, died March 19. She was the wife of Joseph Larkin and mother of Francis and Joseph Larkin IV.
She was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret Kelly Daily, and sister of Francis Daily, and the late Martha Grossman.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were March 22 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at Calvary Cemetery, West Consohocken, Pa.
LAWSON
NEW ORLEANS – Thelma “Maw-Maw” Lawson, 80, a native of Convent and resident of Harvey for 10 years, died March 21. She was the mother of Gilda Simmons, Yolanda Smith and Cynthia Lawson.
She is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a retired laundress with Chateau de Notre Dame Nursing Home.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Mathias Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
ROBERT
AMA – Dolores Robert Robert, 71, a native and resident of Ama, died March 20. She was the wife of the late Dalvin Robert and mother of Cathy Troxler, Bonnie Lavergne, Terri Perry and Nancy Robert.
She was the daughter of the late George and Mathilde Robert and sister of George Robert and the late Emma Gilbert.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
She was a 1948 graduate of Hahnville High School.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, with interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 7:30 a.m.
VICKNAIR
LAPLACE – Clyde M. Vicknair, 42, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March 20. He was the son of Hamilton and Gloria Levet Vicknair and brother of Pam Aucoin, Charlene Cavalier, Kathleen Calcagno and Debra Vicknair.
Services were March 22 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
WILLIAMS
GRAMERCY – Vila Mae Williams, 55, a native and resident of Gramercy, died March 14. She was the mother of Leslie Gray and Rynette, Shelita and Glenn Williams. She was the daughter of the late Alexa and Louisa Williams and sister of Darlene Scott, Marva and Alma Goff, Freddie and Larry Williams and the late Thelma Randle, Lolita Washington, Junius and Lawrence James and Alexander, Barry and Clarence Williams.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
