DEAR EDITOR: I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but it seems to me that every year around the end of December and beginning of January, all of the global-warming anarchists and nay-sayers pretty much clam up altogether.

Maybe it’s because they can’t, with any real credibility, use the global-warming argument to explain away facts like these: Dec. 3, Reno, Nev. – 100-mph winds, blizzard-like conditions close roads and schools, bring town to a standstill. Dec. 24, Buffalo, N.Y. – Two feet of snow fall in one day, another foot expected for same day. A total of almost seven feet of snow for the week. Slidell, La. – National Weather Service office says most of the the United States is having below-normal temperatures, including Louisiana, and on and on and on. And last year at this time, it was pretty much the same thing.

Now, with the global-warming crowd throwing around terms like “ozone-depleting SUVs” and “heat-trapping carbon dioxide,” you’d think we should be having spring-like conditions right through winter, wouldn’t you? But such is not the case.

Exactly where does all that CO2-trapped heat go around this time of year? If anyone can use it right now, it’s Buffalo.
