The true heroes of war are not the generals, dictators, presidents or emperors who initiate the conflict. Instead, the real heroes are the unselfish men and women who risk their lives to fight for freedom.

Now that America is at war, L’Observateur is dedicated to honoring the brave soldiers of our River Parishes by proclaiming their personal stories.

History books record the actions of the leaders. who make life and death decisions from places safe from harm’s way.

L’Observateur in our “Freedom Fighters” column will record the spirit of the war by featuring our neighbors who are preserving freedom by serving in a hostile land.
