BELVIN
VACHERIE – August “Gee” Belvin, 63, a native and resident of Mt. Airy, died Dec. 25. He was the husband of Ruby Williams Belvin and father of Trena Clayton, Gaynell James and Gary Belvin.
He was the son of the late Lee Sr. and Mary E. Belvin and brother of Marqueitte Madden, Rosalee Randolph, Augustine Scott, Helen Christoff, Raymond, Charles Sr., Marcel Sr. and Lee Belvin Jr. and the late Mary Alexander, Alma Byas and Windy, Robert, Louis, Chester and Clarence Belvin Sr.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
He was a welder at Avondale Shipyard.
Services were Dec. 30 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve.
BOUDREAUX
CONVENT – Quacy Ann Boudreaux, 28, a native of Convent and resident of Baton Rouge, died Dec. 26. She was the mother of Chelsea, Janae, Taraneka and Qua’Von Boudreaux.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Brenda Morris Boudreaux and sister of Kenneth, Jerome, Gary, Michael, Tyron and the late Izell Boudreaux.
She was the grandchild of Louella Morris and the late Cornell Morris.
Services were Dec. 30 at Young Pilgrim Baptist Church, Convent, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, convent.
CARLSON
NORCO – Craig “Yank” Carlson, 46, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and resident of LaPlace for four years, died Dec. 20. He was the husband of Annemarie Carlson and father of Samantha and Billy Schultz and Jacqueline and Jonathan Carlson.
He was the brother of Crystal Craig and Ronald Carlson.
He was a maintenance technician for St. John the Baptist Parish and a volunteer firefighter for the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a former firefighter for Long Island, N.Y.
Memorial services were Dec. 29 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco
CLOUATRE
GRAMERCY – Brenton Joseph Clouatre, 13, a native of LaPlace and resident of Gramercy, died Dec. 28. He was the son of Elton “Rambo” and Laura Berthelot Clouatre and brother of Brandy Clouatre.
He was the grandchild of Shirley Destor Clouatre, Violet Berthelot and the late Lynn Berthelot and Elton Clouatre Sr.
He was a student at Lutcher High School.
Services were Dec. 31 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
EUGENE
GARYVILLE – Charles Edward “Headman” Eugene Jr., 32, a native of New Orleans and resident of Garyville, died Dec. 24. He was the father of Ieisha Davis and E’mon Jy’Carlis Carr and the fianc of Keshelle Carr.
He was the son of Ernstine Eugene Morris and the late Charles Eugene Sr. and brother of Stephanie Davis, Shantell Bardell, Hollis Braxton, Carr and Lashanda Eugene and Rechelle and Kendall Morris.
He was an employee of Quality Janitorial.
Services were Dec. 30 at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Goldenwreath Cemetery, Lutcher.
JENKINS
NORCO – Charlie “Boss Hogg” Jenkins Sr., 76, a native and resident of New Sarpy, died Dec. 23. He was the husband of Dorothy Jones Jenkins, father of Shirley Jenkins and stepfather of Charles Jones Sr. and Joseph and Major Mackie Jr.
He was the son of the late Sam and Leona Jenkins.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 30 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at Montz Memorial Park Cemetery, Montz.
LANAUX
HAHNVILLE – Antoine Denis Lanaux, 80, a native of New Orleans and life-long resident of Lucy, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of 51 years of Yolande Poche Lanaux and father of Laure Mineo and Antoine “Denny” Lanaux III.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Marie H. Thibodeaux Lanaux and brother of Pierre, Marthe, Hilaire, Louis Jr. and the late Marie Lanaux.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
He was part owner and operator of Glendale Plantation in Lucy where he was a sugar planter. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was a member of the 60th Carrier Troop and earned the rank of first lieutenant, and received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign medal with two bronze stars. He was past commander of VFW Post 3750 and a member of the board of directors of Destrehan Plantation.
Services were Dec. 30 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
McGARY
NEW ORLEANS – Frances Herbert McGary, 81, a native of Wallace and resident of New Orleans, died Dec. 23. She was the wife of 62 years of the Rev. Matthews McGary Sr. and mother of Marcia Garnett, Janice Landry and Noble Sr., Timothy Sr. and the late Matthews McGary Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Hebert and sister of Robert Jones Jr.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 30 at Second Zion Baptist Church No. 1, New Orleans, with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
ST. PIERRE
ST. GABRIEL – Ethel Lapeyrolerie St. Pierre, 100, a native of Carville and long time resident of Norco, died Dec. 26. She was the mother of the late Roy St. Pierre.
She was the daughter of the late John and Alcela Rome Lapeyrolerie and sister of Nellie Roberts, John Henry Lapeyrolerie and the late Corine McEntire, Louise Breaux, Arline and Aimee Falcon and Mable, Arlie, Jerome, Ernest and Lawrence Lapeyrolerie.
She was a retired teacher and community activist.
She was the recipient of the Civic Achievement Award for East St. Charles Parish, several first place awards for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Thelma Ashley American Legion Auxiliary award, the Great American Family Community Award from the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, the Medal of the Order of St. Louis and elected to a life membership in the American Legion Auxiliary.
Services were Dec. 30 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Gabriel, with interment at the church cemetery.
SUTTON
DESTREHAN – Francis Gary “Peter” Sutton, 61, a native of Reserve and resident of New Sarpy, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of Carol Guedry Sutton and father of Tammy Gardner and Francis “Tuni” Jr. and David Sutton.
He was the son of the late Oliver and Lolita Weber Sutton and brother of Ruth Bourgeois, Ethel Champagne, Dorothy Champagne, Lois Faucheaux, Patricia Martin, Blanche Brady and Norman, Oliver, Floyd, Leonard, Raymond, Philip and the late Antoinette Sutton.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 31 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.
TONEY
LAPLACE – Milton “Hawk” Toney, 54, a native of New Orleans and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 26. He was the brother of Barbara, Brenda, Tammy, Harold, Marvin, Malcolm, Edward, Patrick and Wilfred Toney.
Memorial services were held Dec. 30 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, LaPlace.
TROSCLAIR
BATON ROUGE – Willie Jude Trosclair, 62, a native of Garyville and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 28. He was the father of Melissa Monica.
He was the son of the late Willie Trosclair and Verna Rita Haydel and brother of Maida Koltermann and Maria Stuckey.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Services were Dec. 31 in the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
