RESERVE – Near the end of the regular season, East St. John’s Ryan Perrilloux had been swinging a hot bat. Last Wednesday, he picked up right were he left off. Perrilloux’s two home runs lifted LaPlace Ford to a 11-10 victory over Riverside Extra Inning Club in American Legion play.

Both teams were productive at the plate early. They scored a combined 16 runs over the first two innings. LaPlace Ford jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead.

With Greg Sentimore on first base, Perrilloux hit a two-run homerun over the left-field fence.

Riverside responded in the bottom of the inning with four runs of their own.

Another Riverside error allowed Perrilloux to cross home for the inning’s first run. Catcher Kenon Duhe then singled home Trayvon Lilly for the second run of the inning. The inning ended when Billie Terrio struck out Alex McCollum and AJ Delaneuville.

After LaPlace Ford went scoreless in the top of the sixth, McCollum came in bottom of the sixth and struck out the side. McCollum’s effort seemed to invigorate his team’s bats.

In the top of the seventh, Breaux walked and advanced to second on a steal then scored on a double by Lacardio Joseph. With two outs, Sentimore smashed the go ahead run, a single to center that scored CJ Delaneuville from second.
