St. John
JOHNSON
LAPLACE – Faye Laverne Johnson, 47, a native and resident of Garyville, died Jan. 7. She was the mother of Ashley Johnson.
She was also the daughter of the late Olllie and Chris Johnson, and sister of Elaine Brown, Susan Bridges, Beverly Gauff and Timothy Coleman, and the late Chris Johnson Jr.
She is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 10 at Providence Baptist Church No. 2, LaPlace, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
JONES
LAPLACE – Leona Mitchell Jones, 87, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 3. She was the mother of Ethel Paxton, Marilyn Francois, Edgard Jones and Donald Mitchell.
She was also the daughter of the late William and Annie Dillon Mitchell, and sister of Audrey Hart, Mark and William Mitchell.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 10 at Milesville Memorial Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.
LeBLANC
PAULINA – Arthur J. LeBlanc, 84, a antive of Remy and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 7. He was the husband of the late Ethel M. LeBlanc and father of the late Paulette Becnel.
He was also the brother of Augustine LeBlanc Jr., and the late Helen Matherne, Elma Louque, Georgina, Odom, Lloyd Sr., Carrol and Ferrel LeBlanc.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
He was a retired water plant operator and a member of VFW Post 5852.
Services were Jan. 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.
PELOT
KENNER – Ben Fredrick Pelot III, 58, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died Jan. 10. He was the husband of Linday Gallo Pelot and father of JoLynn Ball, Alicia Anderson, Ben IV, Branden and Brett Pelot.
He was also the son of Rose Mary W. Bijak and the late Ben Pelot II, stepson of Julian Bijak, brother of Elizabeth Hebert, Barbara Felps, Marie Shaub and John Murray.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 13 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens.
